Festival Vicenza in Lirica to Present ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’
By Francisco SalazarThe Festival Vicenza in Lirica will present “Le nozze di Figaro” during the 2025 edition.
The company said it will present the work following “Don Giovanni” productions in 2022 and “Così fan tutte” in 2023. The opera will be presented in September 2025 at the Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza and will star winners of the “Concorso lirico Tullio Serafin.”
In a statement, Andrea Castello, artistic director of “Vicenza in Lirica,” said, “In 2021 we had already planned and communicated our desire to perform Da Ponte’s trilogy with the three operas by Mozart and, despite a Rossini title this year for logistical reasons, we now feel the need to bring this masterpiece at the Olimpico with the winners of the 2025 Tullio Serafin Opera Competition. The final decision on the title was examined in recent days in Milan by the famous soprano Barbara Frittoli, who confirmed her willingness to once again support the Opera-Studio project promoted by the festival in 2015:.
Frittoli added, “I can only be happy for the choice of ‘Nozze di Figaro,’ one of the Mozart titles dearest to me. It is a very suitable title for young people and we will try to prepare them in the best possible way for this important debut at the Teatro Olimpico which lends itself very well to staging. It is also a suitable title for the Tullio Serafin Competition which has now become a global point of reference for young soloists. I am grateful for all of this.”
