Calgary Concert Opera To Present ‘Samson Et Dalila’

The Calgary Concert Opera and Foothills Philharmonic Opera Chorus are set to perform excerpts from Saint-Saëns’ “Samson et Dalila.”

The upcoming performance on August 28, 2019 at the Church of the Redeemer in the Canadian city is set to star Tenor Dan Rowley and mezzo sopranos Barbara King and Alicia Woynarski. The performance will also feature Adam Brousseau as the High Priest, Uwe Dambruch as the Old Hebrew, tenors Valentin Borsu and Oliver Munar and the bass-baritones of the Foothills Philharmonic Opera Chorus.

Eleanor May and Oliver Munar will accompany on piano.

The concert will be held as part of the company’s  ProArts@Noon concert and will be followed by full performances of the work on Sept. 19, 20, and 22, 2019 at the Airdrie, Lutheran Church of the Master, Calgary First Baptist Church, and Okotoks Alliance Church. The company will also present a gala evening in February.
