C-Major Entertainment Announces Plácido Domingo’s 50th-Anniversary DVD / Blu-Ray Release

C-Major Entertainment has announced the release of Plácido Domingo’s 50th-anniversary gala at the Arena di Verona.

The gala, which was recorded in 2019, showcases the famed singer performing from Verdi’s “Macbeth,” “Nabucco,” and “Simon Boccanegra.” Domingo was joined by collaborators Anna Pirozzi, Géraldine Chauvet,  Marko Mimica, Carlo Bosi, Elisabetta Zizzo, and Arturo Chacón-Cruz as well as the Arena di Verona’s ballet and conductor Jordi Bernàcer who led the Orchestra of the Arena di Verona.

Domingo made his Arena di Verona debut in the summer of 1969, with Puccini’s “Turandot” and Verdi’s “Don Carlo.” He is set to return to the famed colosseum this summer for two gala performances and will return in the summer of 2021 for a special gala.

He is also scheduled to return to the Teatro alla Scala, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Wiener Staatsoper, and the Opera de Monte-Carlo next season.

The DVD recording will be released on July 24.
