Brooklyn Art Song Society to Present Cycles V: Harawi with Erin Wagner

Brooklyn Art Song Society (BASS) is set to present “Cycles V: Harawi.”

The concert, which will be held on Feb. 1, will feature Messiaen’s song cycle for voice and piano.

Mezzo-soprano Erin Wagner returns to BASS following her standout debut last season and she will be accompanied by pianist Shawn Chang.

The evening will also feature a pre-concert lecture at 4:30 PM with soprano Lucy Shelton.

Wagner is a mezzo who has won the Naumburg Foundation Vocal Award, YCA Susan Wadsworth International Auditions, and top prizes from the, Opera Index, and the George & Nora London Foundation. She made her Metropolitan Opera debut last season in “Die Frau ohne Schatten.”

Pianist and composer Chang is a Studio Pianist at the Staatsoper Stuttgart and has appeared at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.
