Brian Cheney & Cathy Venable to Present ’24 Italian Art Songs & Arias’ Concert Series

The duo will perform the famed “24 Italian Art Songs and Arias anthology,” a volume of songs that any aspiring singer will take on at some point in his or her career.
“My mentor and dear friend, Jerry Hadley, always told me ‘If an artist can perform this entire book with beautiful, efficient technique he is truly a master at his craft,” Cheney said in a press release. “Performing the complete anthology is something I have always wanted to take on and I can’t think of a better time than now.”

Cheney has been a champion of the online recital for many months, presenting weekly showcases throughout the COVID-19 lockdown across a wide range of repertoire. He also recently released an album, “I Sang My Heart to the Moon,” on which he collaborated with composer Oliver Ostermann.
