Bayreuth Festival Announces Future Productions

The Bayreuth Festival has announced upcoming productions for 2024 and 2025.

The company announced that in 2025 it will present Matthias Davids’ new production of “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg” under Daniele Gatti. Georg Zeppenfeld will sing the title role with Michael Spyres as Walter von Stolzing.

Tobias Kratzers directs “Tannhäuser” in 2024 under music director Nathalie Stutzmann, while “Tristan und Isolde” will be directed by Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson. Semyon Bychkov conducts the production with Andreas Schager and Camilla Nylund sing the title roles.

Finally, the “Der Ring des Nibelungen” will be conducted by Philippe Jordan. The role of Siegfried, with “Siegfried” and “Götterdämmerung,” will be sung by Klaus Florian Vogt.

The news comes as the Bayreuth Festival is set to open on July 25, 2023, with a new production of “Parsifal.” The company previously announced that “Rienzi” will be performed in 2026.
