The Bayerische Staatsoper has announced a cast change for its production of “Der Fliegende Holländer.”

The company said that Camilla Nylund will sing the role of Senta replacing Asmik Grigorian.”

This is the latest cancelation for Grigorian who recently canceled her performances with the Cleveland Orchestra due to personal reasons.

Nylund is known for her Wagner and Strauss interpretations. This season she is set to perform “Arabaella” at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and “Lohengrin” at the Wiener Staatsoper.

Nylund joins a cast that includes Franz-Josef Selig, Benjamin Bruns, Natalie Lewis, Tansel Akzeybek, and Gerald Finley. Mikko Franck conducts the production which opens on March 25 and runs through March 31, 2025.
