Opera
Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” opens the season with Gwyn Hughes Jones, Burkhard Fritz, and Elisabet Strid in the title roles. Marc Albrecht conducts the production by Michael Thalheimer. The cast will also include Tareq Nazmi, Kristina Stanek, Craig Colclough, and Julien Henric.
Performance Dates: Sept. 15-27, 2024
Tomáš Netopil conducts Mozart’s “La Clemenza di Tito” with Milo Rau directing. Bernard Richter, Serena Farnocchia, Maria Kataeva, Yuliia Zasimova, Giuseppina Bridelli, Justin Hopkins, and Mark Kurmanbayev star.
Performance Dates: Oct. 16-29, 2024
Aleksandra Kurzak and Robert Alagna lead Giordano’s “Fedora.” The cast also includes Simone Del Savio, Mark Kurmanbayev, and Yuliia Zasimova. Antonino Fogliani conducts the production by Arnaud Bernard. Elena Guseva and Najmiddin Mavlyanov also star in the lead roles.

Olesya Golovneva, Gábor Bretz, John Daszak, Tanja Ariane Baumgartner, and Matthew Newlin star in Strauss’ “Salome.” Jukka-Pekka Saraste conducts the production by Kornél Mundruczó.

Purcell’s “Dido and Æneas” will star Marie-Claude Chappuis, Jarrett Ott, Francesca Aspromonte, and Yuliia Zasimova. Emmanuelle Haïm & Atsushi Sakai conduct the production by Franck Chartier.

Mussorgsky’s “Khovanshchina” will star Dmitry Ulyanov, Arnold Rutkowski, Dmitry Golovnin, John Relyea, Raehann Bryce-Davis, Chaklovity Vladislav Sulimsky, Ekaterina Bakanova, Michael J. Scott, Liene Kinča, and Emanuel Tomljenović. Alejo Pérez conducts the production by Calixto Bieito.

Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater” will star Barbara Hannigan and Jakub Józef Orliński. Romeo Castellucci directs.

Ruzan Mantashyan and Jeanine De Bique take on the lead role of Verdi’s “La Traviata.” The cast includes Enea Scala, Julien Behr, Luca Micheletti, and Tassis Christoyannis. Paolo Carignani conducts the production by Karin Henkel.

Giulia Bolcato, Maria Kataeva, Omar Mancini, and Michael Mofidian star in Rossini’s “Petite messe solennelle” with Mark Biggins conducting.

The New Year’s concert will be headlined by Camilla Nylund. The Orchestre Symphonique Bienne Soleure will be led by Yannis Pouspourikas and the program will include music by Johann Strauss II, Franz Lehár, and Emmerich Kálmán.
