Anthony Roth Costanzo, Vivica Genaux, Paul Appleby Star In Caramoor’s 2019 Summer Season

The Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts has announced its 2019 summer season, which will feature some of the greatest vocal performers in the world.

While the program includes a plethora of instrumental music and performances, our focus for the purposes of this article will be to highlight singers and any opera productions.

First up will be “Versaille: Portrait of a Royal Domain,” which will feature a program of music by Lully, Lalande, and Charpentier. The Boston Early Music Festival will lead a performance directed by Gilbert Blin and Choreographer Carlos Fittante. Paul O’Dette and Stephen Stubbs will be the music directors fo rhte performance.

Performance Date: June 23, 2019

Mezzo soprano Vivica Genaux will give a performance with New York Baroque Incorporated that features the music of Vivaldi, Hasse, Geminiani, Handel, and Corelli.

Performance Date: June 30, 2019

Soprano Laura Benanti will also give a performance at the Venetian Theater entitled “Tales From Soprano Isle.”

Performance Date: July 6, 2019

Near the end of the festival, the American Modern Opera Company will showcase a concert featuring countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo, Paul Appleby, and pianist / composer Matthew Aucoin. The showcase will feature music by Britten, Aucoin, Monteverdi, and Meltzer; Meltzer’s “The Heaven of Animals” will be receiving its world premiere performance.
