‘Knives Out’ & ‘Star Wars’ Director Rian Johnson Among New Board Members of Los Angeles Opera

Los Angeles Opera has announced three new board members.

The board members in question include famed filmmaker Rian Johnson, labor arbitrator Juan Carlos Gonzalez, and Jennifer McCormick, a major CEO.

Johnson is an Academy Award-nominated director of such films as “Knives Out,” “Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi,” and “Brick.”

Gonzalez, worked as a Federal Mediator from 2000 – 2012 and was the commissioner of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service where he took on over 600 cases.

Finally, McCormick runs American Freight Logistics and serves on the National Council of the American Red Cross Tiffany Circle.

“I couldn’t be happier to have these dynamic leaders join us on our leadership team,” said Keith R. Leonard, Jr., chairman of LA Opera’s board of directors, in an official press statement. “Each brings a unique perspective from their profession that will be invaluable as we build the future of opera in Los Angeles, and I am excited to work with them as we continue to create thrilling and dynamic artistic experiences for our audiences and our community. That we are able to attract such talented members to our already stellar board is a testament to the quality of the work we bring to the stage.”
