Annette Dasch & Magnus Vigilius Headline ‘Káťa Kabanová’ at Komische Oper Berlin

The Komische Oper Berlin will present a new production of Leoš Janáček‘s opera “Káťa Kabanová” in November and December 2021.

The opera house has assembled a cast that includes heldentenor Magnus Vigilius as Boris Grigorjevič; bass Jens Larsen as Savël Prokofjevic Dikój; mezzo-soprano Doris Lamprecht in the role of Marfa Ignatěvna Kabanová; tenor Ivan Turšić as Tichon Ivanyč Kabanov; tenor Timothy Oliver in the role of Váňa Kudrjaš; mezzo-soprano Susan Zarrabi as Varvara; mezzo-soprano Sylvia Rena Ziegler in the dual role of servants Glaša and Fekluša; and soprano Annette Dasch in the title role.

Giedrė Šlekytė conducts a production by Jetske Mijnssen with dramaturgy by Simon Berger. Dieuweke van Reij will be responsible for costume design.

The run of “Káťa Kabanová” at the Komische Oper Berlin will begin on Nov. 27, and is set to end on Dec. 25, 2021.
