Denyce Graves, Gina Perregrino, Wendy Bryn Harmer, Elizabeth DeShong & Eric Taylor Lead North Carolina Opera’s 2026-27 Season

North Carolina Opera has announced its 2026-27 season.

Joseph Mechavich conducts Bizet’s “Carmen” directed by Denyce Graves. The production stars Gina Perregrino in the title role, Eric Taylor as Don José, Laureano Quant as Escamillo, and Elana Gleason as Micaela.

Performance Dates: Oct. 16 & 18, 2026


Antony Walker conducts Puccini’s “Turandot” directed by John Hoomes in a company premiere. The cast features Wendy Bryn Harmer as Princess Turandot, Jonny Kaufman as Calaf, Caitlin Gotimer as Liù, and Adam Lau as Timur.

Performance Dates: Feb. 5 & 7, 2027


Gary Thor Wedow conducts Gluck’s “Orfeo & Euridice” in concert at Meymandi Concert Hall, marking a company premiere. The performance features Elizabeth DeShong as Orfeo and Magdalena Kuźma as Euridice.

Performance Date: April 18, 2027
