Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann, Sonya Yoncheva & Lise Davidsen Lead Osterfestspiele Salzburg’s 2024 Season

The season will feature the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under Sir. Antonio Pappano.
Sir. Antonio Pappano will conduct the rarely performed Ponchielli’s “La Gioconda“ for the first time at the Easter Festival. The new production by British director Oliver Mears will star Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann, and Luca Salsi. In a statement Netrebko said, “I am delighted to return to Salzburg for this very special project, and to have the opportunity to learn this wonderful score. I am looking forward to making my debut in this rarely performed work. I trust in Maestro Pappano as I always have in the past, that’s why I know it will be wonderful!”
The cast will also feature Agnieszka Rehlis (La Cieca), Eve-Maud Hubeaux (Laura), and Tareq Nazmi (Alvise Badoero).

Verdi’s Requiem will star Sonya Yoncheva, Judit Kutasi, Jonas Kaufmann, and Michele Pertusi. The orchestra is reinforced by the Coro dell’Accademia di Santa Cecilia and the Bachchor Salzburg. Sir. Antonio Pappano conducts.

Baritone Christian Gerhaher and Gerold Huber perform in recital with a selection of Johannes Brahms.

The celebrated soprano Lise Davidsen makes her Salzburg debut with this recital together with tenor Freddie De Tommaso and pianist James Baillieu. The program includes arias, songs, and duets from Wagner and Verdi to Puccini and Tosti.
