The Lyric Opera of Chicago is set to open its 2023-24 season. Here is a look at the season.

Tomasz Konieczny leads Wagner’s “Der Fliegende Holländer” alongside Tamara Wilson, Robert Watson, and Mika Kares. Enrique Mazzola conducts.

Performance Dates: Sept. 23, 2023 – Oct. 7, 2023

Audra MacDonald will perform in one evening.

Performance Date: Oct. 6, 2023

Donizetti’s “La Fille du Régiment” will star Lisette Oropesa, Lawrence Brownlee, Ronnita Miller, and Alessandro Corbelli. Speranza Scappucci conducts Laurent Pelly’s production.

Performance Dates: Nov. 4-25, 2023

Lise Davidsen takes on the title role of “Jenůfa” alongside Nina Stemme, Pavel Černoch, and Richard Trey Smagur. Jakub Hrůša conducts.

Performance Dates: Nov. 12-26, 2023

Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, Jack Swanson, Alessandro Corbelli, Joshua Hopkins, and Nicholas Newton star in Rossini’s “La Cenerentola.” Yi-Chen Lin conducts.

Performance Dates: Jan. 21, 2024 – Feb. 10, 2024

Terence Blachard’s “Champion” is set to star Eric Owens, Justin Austin, Whitney Morrison, Martin Luther Clark, and Paul Groves.

Performance Dates: Jan. 27-Feb. 11, 2024

Michelle Bradley, Jamie Barton, Russell Thomas, Reginald Smith, Jr., and Önay Köse star in Verdi’s “Aida.” Francesco Milioto conducts.

Performance Dates: March 9, 2024 – April 7, 2024

Enrique Mazzola conducts Mozart’s Requiem.
