The Théâtre des Champs-Elysées has announced a replacement for Sabine Devieilhe in Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro.”

The French company revealed that Anna Aglatova will take over the role of Susanna in James Gray’s upcoming new production of Mozart’s masterpiece.

Aglatova is a Russian soprano who has performed at the Bolshoi Theatre, Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, Wiener Staatsoper, Salle Pleyel, and David Geffen Hall.

Devieilhe withdrew from her fall season yesterday as she announced she was expecting her second child. The soprano announced that she had canceled her engagements in Paris and Spain as well as a highly anticipated tour.

Aglatova is set to join a cast that includes Robert Gleadow, Stéphane Degout, Vannina Santoni, and Eléonore Pancrazi Cherubino. The production will be conducted by Jérémie Rhorer and will contain costumes by Christian Lacroix.

The production opens on Nov. 26, 2019.
