Angela Meade, Maria Katzarava, Saioa Hernandez Star At Verdi Festival 2019

The Verdi Festival has officially announced its casting lineup for its 2019 festival. Here is a look at what to expect.

Verdi’s “I Due Foscari” opens the festival starring Vladimir Stoyanov, Stefan Pop, and Maria Katzarava. Paolo Arrivabeni conducts Leo Muscato’s new production.

Performance Dates: Sept. 26-Oct. 17,2019

Verdi’s “Aida” is set to star artists of the 57th annual Concorso Internazionale Voci Verdiane Città di Busseto, as well as students of the Accademia Verdiana. Michelangelo Mazza conducts Franco Zeffirelli’s production.

Performance Dates: Sept. 27-Oct. 30, 2019

Angela Meade stars in the title role of Verdi’s “Luisa Miller.” She is joined by Franco Vassallo, Amadhi Lagha, Riccardo Zanellato, and Gabriele Sagona. Lev Dodin directs a new production with Roberto Abbado conducting.

Performance Dates: Sept. 28-Oct. 19, 2019

Saioa Hernandez sings the role of Abigaille in Verdi’s “Nabucco” with Amartuvshin Enkhbat in the title role, Ivan Magri, Annalisa Stroppa, and Pavel Shmulevich. Stefano Ricci directs the new production with Francesco Ivan Ciampa conducting.

Performance Dates: Sept. 29-Oct. 20, 2019

The festival will also include a Verdi Street Para, a gala, a concert featuring Mariella Devia, and Verdi Sacro.
