By David Salazar

Andrea Bocelli will include the “Voices of Haiti” choir in his upcoming album “Si.”

The choir is the creation of The Andrea Bocelli Foundation and its collaboration with local partner Foundation St Luc. The choir is made up of 60 Haitian children between the ages of 9-16 all directed under Maestro Malcom J. Merriweather.

The ensemble is set to appear on two tracks from the album entitled “Dormi Dormi” and “Gloria Gift of Love.”

The first single for the album, “If Only” was unveiled about four months ago and was said to be “ “an intimate collection of songs that celebrate love, faith, and family.”

In reference to the recording, the tenor also noted that “I wanted to go back to my memories of being a young man, playing at a piano bar. Obviously since then, I’ve produced lots of albums, sung lots of covers, performed many other things. But at a certain point I said to myself: ‘Maybe the time has come to put my effort into finding new songs.’ Like starting all over again, as it were, in my career.”
