
Amy Lane Appointed Director of Opera at Opera Australia

She will begin her tenure in September.
Lane was chosen following a rigorous national and international search and comes from the Copenhagen Opera Festival where she was Artistic Director. She was also worked as Head Staff Director at The Royal Ballet and Opera, Covent Garden.
As a director Lane has worked at the Royal Ballet and Opera Covent Garden, Royal Danish Opera, English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Polish National Opera, Théâtre du Châtelet and Semperoper Dresden. She has also created new productions for companies including Canadian Opera Company, Den Norske Opera, Det Kongelige Teater, Bregenz Festival and worked in houses across Europe, North America and Australia. She has also directed a complete the Ring Cycle at Longborough Festival Opera.
She worked with Opera Australia as Revival Director of “King Roger” in Melbourne and Sydney.
Lane will work alongside Andrea Battistoni and CEO Alex Budd to lead the company in the next stage of creative life.
FRANCISCO SALAZAR, (Publisher) has worked as a journalist for over 10 years with such companies as Latin Post, and freelanced for Remezcla. He has also published for El Diario and La Opinion. He is a media producer and a classically trained cellist who has performed in the New York area.
With OperaWire he has lectured at Bard College and been featured on Fred Plotkin, Jennifer Rowley and Angel Blue's programs.
He holds a Masters in Media Management from the New School and a Bachelor's in Film Production and Italian studies from Hofstra University.
