The American Modern Opera Company has announced its US Tour of “El Niño: Nativity Reconsidered” for Dec. 11-22.

John Adams and Peter Sellars’ chamber work celebrates Latin American poets and the voices of women. Performing alongside the concept designer of the performance soprano Julia Bullock, is contralto Jasmin White, countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo, bass-baritone Davóne Tines, pianist Conor Hanick, and other instrumentalists.

“El Niño: Nativity Reconsidered” is conducted by Christian Reif, who created the new arrangement and premiered the initial, distilled arrangement as part of Julia Bullock’s residency at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where The New York Times called it “intimate, affecting and quietly rich with activism.”

The tour will make stops at the Harriman-Jewell Series in Liberty, Missouri; Stanford Live, Stanford, California; Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut; and at The Cathedral of St. John the Divine for the second year in a row marking a new holiday tradition where they will be joined by New York guest musicians and The Choir of Trinity Wall Street.
