Ailyn Pérez, Ana María Martínez, Latonia Moore, Sondra Radvanovsky, Ying Fang Headline Lyric Opera of Chicago’s 2021-22 Season

The Lyric Opera of Chicago has announced its 2021-22 season.

It all kicks off with a new production of Verdi’s “Macbeth” starring Luca Salsi, Sondra Radvanovsky, Joshua Guerrero and Christian Van Horn. Enrique Mazzola conducts the production by Sir David McVicar.

Performance Dates: Sept. 17- Oct. 9, 2021

Enrique Mazzola will conduct “L’Elisir d’Amore” in a production by Daniel Slater. Ailyn Pérez, Charles Castronovo, Joshua Hopkins, and Kyle Ketelsen headline the cast.

Performance Dates: Sept. 26 – Oct. 8, 2021

Suzanne Andrade and Barrie Kosky’s iconic “The Magic Flute” comes to Chicago with Ying Fang, Lila Dufy, Pavel Petrov, Huw Montague Rendall, and Tareq Nazmi.

Performance Dates: Nov. 3-27, 2021

Ana María Martínez, Gabriella Reyes, Mario Rojas, Deborah Nansteel, Levi Hernandez, Ethan Vincent, and Raymond Aceto will headline Francesca Zambello’s “Florencia en el Amazonas.” Jordan de Souza conducts.

Performance Dates: Nov. 13-28, 2021

 Enrique Mazzola will conduct James Darrah’s production of “Proving Up” with the cast to be announced at a later date.

Performance Dates: Jan. 22-30, 2022

Michelle Bradley, Russell Thomas, and Fabian Veloz will headline Louisa Muller’s production of “Tosca.” Eun Sun Kim conducts.

Performance Dates: March 12- April 10, 202

Fire Shut Up in My Bones” will star Will Liverman, Latonia Moore, Jacqueline Echols, Chauncey Packer, and Christopher Kenney. Daniela Candillari conducts James Robinson and Camille A. Brown’s production.

Performance Dates: March 24 – April 8, 2022

Additionally, there will be a performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony by Sir Andrew Davis. The concert will also feature a performance of a new work by Ed Frazier Davis, the conductor’s son.
