Accademia Filarmonica Romana to Present Festa Filarmonica

On Dec. 8, the Accademia Filarmonica Romana will continue to celebrate its 200th year with Festa Filarmonica at the Teatro Argentina.

Artistic Director Andrea Lucchesini will lead the concert on piano alongside violinist Carlo Maria Parazzoli, flutist Andrea Oliva, and cellist Luigi Piovano. The concert will also include artists from the “Fabbrica” Young Artist Program of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma including soprano Sharon Celani and mezzo-soprano Irene Savignano.

The program will be made up of Gioachino Rossini’s “Beltà crudele,” “Canzonetta spagnuola,” Giovanni Sgambati’s “Gondoliera,” Alfredo Casella’s “Barcarola e scherzo,” Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy’s Sonata n. 2 for Cello, Franz Schubert’s Lied, and Igor Stravinsky’s “Suite italienne.”

The concert is part of the Accademia’s series and is made possible by the Ministero della Cultura in Rome, Italy.
