Academy of Vocal Arts Announces Concert in Ocean City

The Academy of Vocal Arts is set to present a performance in Ocean City, New Jersey on June 2, 2021.

Music Director and pianist Danielle Orlando will be joined by soprano Kara Mulder, mezzo-soprano Anne Marie Stanley, tenor Sahel Salam and AVA graduate baritone Daniel Gallegos.

The showcase will feature a wide range of music from operas, operettas, Broadway, and popular American songs.

Mulder is a third-year resident artists who won the Kenneth Square Symphony Orchestra Competition in 2017. She has performed lead roles in “Le Nozze di Figaro,” “Le Villi,” “Rusalka,” and “Così fan tutte” at AVA.

Stanley, also a third-year resident artist has won major prizes at such competitions as the Cooper-Bing Competition, Houston Grand Opera Eleanor McCollumm Competition, and Franco-American Grand Concours Vocal Competition, among others.

Salam, also a third-year resident artist performed in “La Favorite” with AVA, while fourth-year resident Gallegos performed in “La Favorite,” “Roméo et Juliette,” “La Traviata,” and “Ariadne auf Naxos,” among others, at AVA.

The showcase will take place at Ocean City Tabernacle starting at 7 p.m. EST.
