
Academy of Vocal Arts Announces Cast for Verdi’s ‘Falstaff’
By David SalazarThe Academy of Vocal Arts (AVA) will present Verdi’s “Falstaff” in five performances this April and May.
The production features two rotating casts drawn from AVA’s Resident Artists.
On April 18, 23, and May 5, the title role will be sung by Raúl Morales Velazco, with Veronica Richer as Alice Ford, Maiya Williams as Mistress Quickly, Jasmine Ismail as Nannetta, Josh Berg as Fenton, and Jacob Hanes as Ford.
On April 21 and 25, Ryan Wornall takes on the title role, alongside Daniela Machado as Alice Ford, Dawson Franzino as Mistress Quickly, Beautiful Sheriff as Nannetta, Cole McIlquham as Fenton, and Alex Mathews as Ford.
Richard Troxell, an AVA alumnus from the class of 1992, appears as Caius in all performances. Matthew Sink sings Bardolfo and Joshua Klein appears as the Host of the Garter Inn across both casts, with Julianna Smith and Katie Dobbs sharing the role of Meg Page.
The production runs from April 18 through 25 at AVA’s Helen Corning Warden Theater in Philadelphia, with a final performance on May 5 at The Haverford School’s Centennial Hall in Haverford, Pennsylvania.
All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.
