ABAO Bilbao Ópera Approves 2021-22 Budget & New Leadership

The general assembly of members of ABAO Bilbao Ópera approved the budget and management for the next season.

In sum, a budget of 8.4 million euros was also approved for the 2021-2022 season.

Additionally, the organization also elected a new board of directors, with the purpose of consolidating the complete cultural project so that opera is disseminated with a focus, not only didactic and social, but one that is capable of producing recognition and wealth. Leading the charge will be Juan Carlos Matellanes, who was re-elected as president as well as Javier Hernani Burzaco, who was picked to be vice president.

The remaining new board of directors include José Antonio Isusi Ezcurdia, who was elected as vice president, Guillermo Ibáñez Calle as secretary, María Victoria Mendía Lasa as treasurer, as well as María Ángeles Mata Merino, José María Bilbao Urquijo and Jesús Urrutikoetxea Yurrebaso, all as members.
