Bryan Register, Anush Hovhannisyan & Emily D’Angelo Lead Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España’s 2023-24 Season

The Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España has announced its 2023-24 season. Here are the vocal performances.

David Afkham opens the season with Rachmaninoff and Elgar. Soloists include Frank Peter Zimmermann, Anush Hovhannisyan, Pavel Petrov, and Anatoli Sivko.

Performance Dates: Sept. 22-24, 2023

Juanjo Mena conducts Brindley Sherratt in a program of music by Mussorgsky, Inés Badalo, and Tchaikovsky.

Performance Dates: Sept. 29-Oct. 1, 2023

David Afkham conducts Wagner’s the Act three of “Parsifal” with Bryan Register, Franz-Josef Selig, and Tomasz Konieczny.

Performance Dates: Oct. 20 & 22, 2023

Josep Pons conducts a concert of music by Richard Wagner, Juan J. Colomer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Aleksandr Skriabin. Soloists include Anna Alàs i Jové, Joan Martín-Royo, and Nelson Goerner.

Performance Dates: Nov. 17-19, 2023

Guillermo García Calvo conducts a program of Elgar and Ralph Vaughn Williams. Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Sally Matthews, and José Antonio Lopez are the soloists.

David Afkham conducts Ludwig van Beethoven and Alexander von Zemlinsky with Mitsuko Uchida, Christiane Karg, and Stéphane Degout.

Haydn’s “The Creation” will be conducted by Kent Nagano and include Marie-Sophie Pollack, Christoph Prégardien, and Simon Bailey.

David Afkham conducts Beethoven’s “Missa Solemnis in Re Major.” Sara Wegener, Wiebke Lehmkuhl, Maximilian Schmitt, and Ashley Riches are the soloists.
