L’Orchestre Colonne has announced the appointment of conductor Marc Korovitch as its new Music Director.

Born in 1987, Marc Korovitch graduated in choir and orchestral conducting. He studied at the Sorbonne, École Normale de Musique in Paris, CRR in Paris, and Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva.

Marc Korovitch has been Chief Conductor of the Jeune Chœur de Paris since 2017. In January 2019, he was appointed Chief Conductor of the Swedish Radio Choir. He has collaborated with such conductors as Sir Simon Rattle, Herbert Blomstedt, Klaus Mäkelä, Daniel Harding, Lahav Shani, Gustavo Dudamel, Alan Gilbert, Philippe Jordan, Louis Langrée, Leonardo Garcia Alarcon, and Laurence Equilbey, among others. Korovitch has conducted the orchestras and choruses in such venues as the Philharmonie de Paris, Theater an der Wien, Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, Lincoln Center in New York, Berwaldhallen in Stockholm, Tokyo Opera City, Concerto Köln, Croatian Baroque Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Hague, and National Orchestra of Montenegro, among others.

Korovitch holds professorial positions at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional in Paris and the Pôle Supérieur Paris-Boulogne-Billancourt. He will take over his new post at the start of the 2022-23 season.
