On September 30, 2018, The Orchestra Now (TON) will take to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to launch their 2018 fall season.

The concerts come as part of TON’s “Sight & Sound” series held at the museum. The September 30 performance, titled “Mahler and the Feminine Ideal,” will feature the art of Klimt, Schiele, and Picasso with Mahler’s “Kindertotenlier,” which will be sung by baritone Michael Anthony McGee. A second performance, on November 18, will feature Avery Fisher Grant winner pianist Orion Weiss, and is titled “Chopin, Delacroix, and the Romantic Impulse.”

November 11 will mark the opening of TON’s Rose Theater series at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Guest conductor Tan Dun will lead the orchestra for the American premiere of his Cello Concerto “Intercourse of Fire and Water.” Future performances in their 2018 season will be held in Peter Norton Symphony Space, Hudson Hall, and Olin Hall at Bard College.
