Salon Sanctuary is set to open its new season with “Kahal, Court, and Casbah: Convivencia and its Discontents.”

The concert will feature Ensemble Lipzode, Kinneret Ely, Dongmyung Ahn, and Anna Marsh in a haunting repertoire in Arabic, Hebrew, Castilian, and Occitan that speaks of inconvenient truths and bracing recognitions, ripe with resonance for own fractious times.

The evening will be held on Sept. 29, 2026 at 6 p.m. at the St. Paul’s Chapel of Columbia Unversity. Audiences will be able to enter free with a reservation.

Founded in 2009 by Artistic Director Jessica Gould, Salon Sanctuary Concerts offers the special chance to hear pre-Romantic music in intimate venues that complement the historical context of the repertoire.
