Austrian baritone Daniel Schmutzhard has joined IMG Artists’ roster for general management.

Schmutzhard will be represented by Artist Manager Andrew Owens and Senior Vice President Sam Snook.

In a statement, Owens said, “I’m so excited to work with Daniel. I first became acquainted with him when I moved to Vienna in 2012 and was able to witness a number of his performances in roles that became his trademark. We’ve since become friends and it’s been a privilege to watch his evolution as a singer and an artist, driven by his tireless work ethic and intense dedication to his craft. A new and exciting career phase awaits him and we are thrilled to be by his side.”

Schmutzhard added, “Having known Andrew for many years and seen first-hand his dedication to opera and singing, along with his wealth of knowledge and passion for our art form, I’m incredibly excited about what the future holds as we begin working together in an artist–agent capacity. I’m more than thrilled to begin this collaboration with IMGA, Andrew Owens, Sam Snook, and the team.“

Schmutzhard sang the title role in Oper Graz’ new production of “Wozzeck” and next season joins Opernhaus Zürich on an international tour of Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelung, conducted by Gianandrea Noseda.

He is an ensemble member of the Volksoper Wien where he has performed Papageno in “Die Zauberflöte,” Johann Strauss and Leon in “Aschenbrödels Traum,” Marcello in “La bohème,” Gabriel von Eisenstein in “Die Fledermaus, ” and Peter in “Hansel und Gretel.”
