Juilliard Announces 2026-27 Season

The Juilliard School has announced its 2026-27 season. Here are the vocal performances on offer.

The season opens when Juilliard415, directed by former faculty member Rachel Podger, presents “Shakespeare Restored,” featuring singers from Vocal Arts in incidental music from Shakespeare’s plays written after the Restoration.

Performance Date: Sept. 18, 2026


Juilliard415 joins forces with Yale Schola Cantorum for Bach’s “St. Matthew Passion,” conducted by Grete Pedersen, with performances in New York and at Yale’s Woolsey Hall.

Performance Dates: Oct. 31 & Nov. 1, 2026


The Vocal Arts department presents a Wednesdays at One recital program.

Performance Date: Nov. 4, 2026


The Vocal Arts program presents a double bill of Italian one-act operas: Rossini’s “La Scala di Seta” paired with Nino Rota’s “I Due Timidi,” a work that originated as a radio opera in 1950. Patrick Furrer conducts the Juilliard Orchestra and John Matsumoto Giampietro directs.

Performance Dates: Nov. 14, 17 & 19, 2026


Juilliard415 and TENET Vocal Artists perform Handel’s “Messiah.”

Performance Dates: Dec. 11-12, 2026


The New York Festival of Song returns to Juilliard in January.

Performance Date: Jan. 13, 2027


Soprano Kathleen O’Mara performs the Alice Tully Vocal Recital at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall.

Performance Date: Jan. 29, 2027


Juilliard Arnhold Creative Associate and Carnegie Hall Debs Composer’s Chair Caroline Shaw curates a collaboration between Juilliard415 and Vocal Arts as part of the Carnegie Hall Presents Juilliard at Zankel Hall series.

Performance Date: Feb. 10, 2027


The Vocal Arts Honors Recital takes place in March.

Performance Date: March 16, 2027


David Robertson conducts the Juilliard Orchestra, Vocal Arts students, and the Juilliard Community Chorus in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and Ives’ Symphony No. 4 at Carnegie Hall.

Performance Date: April 20, 2027


The spring opera production is Händel’s “Agrippina,” performed with the period-instrument ensemble Juilliard415, conducted by alumnus David Belkovski and directed by Katherine M. Carter.

Performance Dates: April 21, 24 & 26, 2027


The Vocal Arts department presents a second Wednesdays at One recital program.

Performance Date: April 28, 2027
