Elbphilharmonie Hamburg Announces 2026-27 Season Featuring Diana Damrau, Rolando Villazón, Golda Schultz, Benjamin App, Gerald Finley, Joyce DiDonato & Jakub Józef Orliński

The Elbphilharmonie Hamburg has announced its 2026-27 season. Here are the vocal performances.

The Philharmonia Orchestra, I Vocalisti, ChorWerk Potsdam, Anna Lapwood, and Kerem Hasan will perform music by Kristina Arakelyan, Hans Zimmer, Max Richter, and Camille Saint-Saëns.

Performance Date: Sept. 14, 2026


The Ensemble Resonanz, Anna Prohaska, and Enno Poppe will perform works by Benjamin Britten, Claude Vivier, Jean-Philippe Rameau, and Enno Poppe.

Performance Date: Sept. 16, 2026


Jennifer Holloway joins the Symphoniker Hamburg and Sylvain Cambreling for music by Beethoven, Wagner, and Zender.

Performance Date: Sept. 20, 2026


The Cleveland Orchestra will be joined by Golda Schultz and Franz Welser-Möst for a program centering on music by Strauss and Shostakovich.

Performance Date: Oct. 2, 2026


The Compagnie La Tempête and Simon-Pierre Bestion will perform works by Arvo Pärt, Philip Glass, and Jehan Alain.

Performance Date: Oct. 10, 2026


The New York Philharmonic, Orfeó Català, and Gustavo Dudamel perform music by John Adams, Zosha Di Castri, and Sergej Prokofjew.

Performance Date: Oct. 19, 2026


Capriccio Stravagante, Cappella Mariana, and Skip Sempé perform works by Pierre Sandrin, Diego Ortiz, Cipriano de Rore, Hernando de Cabezón, Cipriano de Rore, and Orlando di Lasso.

Joseph Haydn’s “The Creation” will star Liv Redpath, Michael Porter, and Markus Eiche. Klaas Stok conducts.

The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and Klaus Mäkelä conducts Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7 in D minor and Béla Bartók’s “Duke Bluebeard’s Castle” with Jennifer Johnston and Gerald Finley.

Georg Nigl and Olga Pashchenko perform Shcubert’s “Schwanengesang.”

Il Pomo d’Oro, Madison Nonoa, and Jakub Józef Orliński perform music by Arvo Pärt, Komitas Vardapet, and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi.

The Prager Philharmonischer Chor, Kirill Gerstein, and Sakari Oramo perform works by Claude Debussy and Ferruccio Busoni.

Kings Return alongside Joyce DiDonato and Craig Terry will perform a program titled “KINGS ReJOYCE.”

The Symphoniker Hamburg will be joined by Julia Lezhneva and conductor Bernard Labadie for a Händel and Mozart program.

Elionor Martínez and Josep Maria Martí Duran team up for a program featuring music by Claudio Monteverdi, Barbara Strozzi, Henry Purcell, Alfonso Ferrabosco jun, John Dowland, Francesca Caccini, Anna Campmany, Juan Hidalgo, Georg Friedrich Händel, and Richard Nicholson.

Lina Johnson, Olivia Vermeulen, Martin Platz, and Manuel Walser lead Beethoven’s “Missa Solemnis.” Jordi Savall conducts.

Benjamin Appl and Jerusalem Quartet perform works by Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Gustav Mahler, Samuel Barber, Anton Webern, Arnold Schönberg, Fritz Kreisler, and Werner Richard Heymann.

The Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz will be joined by Diana Damrau and Pavel Baleff will perform scenes and arias from “La traviata,” “Roméo et Juliette,” “Der Rosenkavalier,” “Rusalka,” and others.

The Symphoniker Hamburg will be joined by Alexander Roslavets, Sara Davis Buechner, and Sylvain Cambreling for a program of music by Ravel, Strauss, and Mussorgsky.

Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla conducts Weinberg’s “The Passenger” will star Daveda Karanas, Nikolai Schukoff, Adrienn Miksch, Iurii Samoilov, Anna Gorbachyova-Ogilvie, Lidia Vinyes Curtis, Marta Fontanals-Simmons, Nadezhda Karyazina, Liuba Sokolova, Helen Field, Géraldine Dulex, Hrólfur Sæmundsson, Marcell Bakonyi, and Albert Casals.

The Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg will be conducted by Kent Nagano and will showcase Anna Gabler in Schönberg’s “Erwartung.” The concert will feature Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 in C-sharp minor.

The Symphoniker Hamburg will be joined by Sandrine Piau and conductor Sylvain Cambreling for a program of music by Tchaikovsky, Philippe Boesmans, Mozart, and Stravinsky.

Krešimir Stražanac leads Salieri’s “Falstaff” with Anett Fritsch, Grégoire Mour, Luigi de Donato, Sophie Harmsen, Arttu Kataja, and Sunhae Im. René Jacobs conducts.

Robert Schumann’s Scenes from Goethe’s “Faust” for Soloists, Choir, and Orchestra will feature Balthasar-Neumann-Chor und -Orchester, Konstantin Krimmel, Katharina Ruckgaber, Julian Prégardien, Florian Boesch, Domen Križaj, Marie Lys, and Thomas Hengelbrock.

The NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester will feature Bertrand Chamayou and Barbara Hannigan in a program of music by Claude Debussy, Jean Sibelius, Alexander Skrjabin, Claude Vivier, and Franz Schreker.

L’Arpeggiata alongside Rolando Villazón and Christina Pluhar will perform “Orfeo son io.”

The Ensemble Resonanz, RIAS Kammerchor Berlin, and conductor Justin Doyle will perform music by Guillaume de Machaut, Jean Sibelius, Edvard Grieg, Veljo Tormis, and Judith Weir.

Alan Gilbert conducts Stravinsky’s “Oedipus Rex” with Michael Schade, Jamie Barton, Matthias Goerne, and Morris Robinson. The program also includes The Rite of Spring.

Krassimira Stoyanova joins the Symphoniker Hamburg and David Afkham for a Mozart, Strauss and Saariaho program.

Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Mass in B minor” will star Miriam Kutrowatz, Sophie Rennert, Maarten Engeltjes, Julian Prégardien, and Milan Siljanov. Klaas Stok conducts.

The Ensemble Resonanz, Natalia Kutateladze, and Giorgi Gigashvili perform works by J.S. Bach, Dmitri Shostakovich, Giya Kancheli, Micheil Shugliashvili, Stevie Wonder, Rosalìa as well as Georgian folk songs and free medleys by Giorgi Gigashvili.
