
Russian Forces Bomb Odesa National Music Academy

An overnight attack was taken out on the city of Odesa, Ukraine on April 16. The bombing targeted the dormitory of the Odesa National Music Academy, leaving nine dead and 23 injured.
The Academy is located in the central part of the city. The A. V. Nezhdanova dorm was heavily damaged, along with two nearby buildings. All student were evacuated into an academic building. Five were injured. It is reported by The Odessa Journal that city council, charities, and the Red Cross are now providing assistance.
The Dean of the Academy’s orchestral faculty, Oleksandr Murza, is quoted saying, “Three buildings were damaged, and we are relocating students. Most managed to get to shelter during the air raid alert, but unfortunately some were asleep. Five students were injured, mostly senior students.”
