LA Opera has announced its 2026-27 season. Here are the MainStage and LA Opera Off productions.

Mainstage

Rihab Chaieb, Joshua Guerrero, Kathleen O’Mara, and Liam James Karai lead a new production of Bizet’s “Carmen“ by Thaddeus Strassberger. Domingo Hindoyan conducts.

Lina González-Granados conducts Bernstein’s “Candide“ with Duke Kim, Deanna Breiwick, and Patti LuPone. Francesca Zambello directs.

Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar sings the title role of Verdi’s “Nabucco“ alongside Angela Meade, Stephano Park, Meridian Prall, and Nathan Bowles. Domingo Hindoyan conducts the production Thaddeus Strassberger.

Ewa Płonka, Arsen Soghomonyan, Juliana Grigoryan, and Peixin Chen star in Puccini’s “Turandot.” Diego Matheuz conducts production by Garnett Bruce.

James Conlon conducts “Le Nozze di Figaro“ in James Gray’s production. Michael Sumuel, Sydney Mancasola, Lucas Meachem, Jarrett Ott, Erica Petrocelli, Kayleigh Decker, Maurizio Muraro, and Hyona Kim star.

“Campy, vampy Halloween fun—Hercules vs. Vampires” will be shown with the LA Opera Orchestra and a cast of singers performing Patrick Morganelli’s operatic score live.

Performance Dates: Oct. 30, 31, 2026

Christophe Rousset leads “Les Talens Lyriques: Two Venetians in Naples” with Apolline Raï-Westphal and Thaïs Raï-Westphal. The program includes works by composers Claudio Monteverdi, Francesco Cavalli, and Andrea Falconieri.

Mila Henry conducts Paola Pristine and Royce Vavrek’s “The Old Man and the Sea” with Karmina Šilec directing.

LA Opera Connects 

Carla Lucero’s “The Three Women of Jerusalem (Las tres mujeres de Jerusalén)” will be conducted by Lina González-Granados and directed by Eli Villanueva.
