The Teatro Principal de Palma has announced a cast change for its production of “Der fliegende Holländer.”

The production, which is set to be performed on Feb. 18, 20 and 22, will see Iwona Sobotka step in as Senta replacing soprano Gabriela Scherer, who was initially announced but was forced to cancel due to an illness.

Sobotka has performed with the Teatr Wielki, Teatro Coccia Novara, Chicago Opera Theater, National Opera Warsaw, Estonian National Opera and the Slovak National Theater, among others.

She is set to join a cast that includes George Gagnidze in the title role, Vazgen Gazaryan as Daland, Alejandro Roy as Erik, Ana Ibarra as Mary, and Joan Laínez as Steuermann. Guillermo García-Calvo conducts the production by Marcelo Lombardero.
