Cast Change: Ludovic Tézier Jumps into Teatro San Carlo’s Concert
By Francisco SalazarThe Teatro San Carlo has announced a cast change for its Feb. 1 concert.
The company said that due to indisposition Matthias Goerne will not be able to perform. As a result, Ludovic Tézier will replace him. The program will see the French baritone perform Wagner’s “Wesendonck-Lieder” instead of Hans Werner Henze’s “Fünf Neapolitanische Lieder.”
Ingo Metzmacher will conduct the evening with a program that also includes Hans Werner Henze’s “La selva incantata” and Brahms Symphony No. 2.
Tézier recently made his role debut as “Nabucco” at the Teatro San Carlo and will sing a production of “Un Ballo in Maschera” at the Paris Opera.
