
Teatro La Fenice Announces New Music Director
By Francisco SalazarThe Fondazione Teatro La Fenice has announced that Maestra Beatrice Venezi will be the new Music Director.
According to the press release, the decision was made after “fruitful discussions” and was unanimously approved by the Foundation’s President, Mayor of Venice Luigi Brugnaro, and all the board members.
Venezi will officially take up her new post in October 2026, with a term that will run through 2030.
President Brugnaro and the Board expressed “great satisfaction” with the choice, emphasizing that Venezi’s appointment “represents a significant added value for the Theater’s activity in terms of professionalism, international visibility, energy, and renewal.”
Venezi has collaborated with many of the world’s greatest stars and has conducted at the Teatro La Fenice, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the National Theatre of Korea in Seoul, the New Japan Philharmonic, the Sofia Philharmonic, the Nagoya Philharmonic, the National Opera House of Georgia, Opera Holland Park in London, and Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires. She serves as an advisor to the Italian Minister of Culture on music and was recently appointed Resident Guest Conductor of the Permanent Orchestra of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.
