Visconti Arts has announced the signing of Vietnamese-American composer Viet Cuong to its international roster for worldwide and general management.
Currently Composer-in-Residence of the Pacific Symphony, Cuong has received commissions and performances from Kronos Quartet, Eighth Blackbird, Alarm Will Sound, and Sō Percussion, among others.
Cuong’s “Ladders” recently received its world premiere in March with Gustavo Dudamel leading the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Moreover, Albany Records released his “Re(new)al” in December and The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra also premiered “Time and Time Again” this year, co-commissioned with the National Orchestral Institute + Festival.
“Viet Cuong has quickly become one of the most-performed composers of his generation across a variety of musical worlds. Viet’s body of work embraces our shared humanity and expresses a fervent hope in our ability to come together on some of today’s most important cultural issues — from marriage equality to renewable energy,” said Visconti Arts founder Dan Visconti, per an official press release.
