Vienna State Opera 2017-18 Live Stream: ‘Der Ring des Nibelungen’ Comes to An End

Wagner’s “Ring Cycle” will continue to take over Vienna State Opera’s live stream service this week with two major performances.

The cycle’s third installment, “Siegfried” gets the spotlight on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. local time. The performance is slated to run until around 10 p.m. That’s around 12:30 p.m. EDT and 9:30 a.m. PST for the start time.

The cast will include Tomas Konieczny, Stephen Gould, Iréne Theorin, Martin Winkler, and Herwig Pecoraro.

Then comes “Götterdämmerung” on Sunday, April 15, 2018, with Iréne Theorin, Stephen Gould, and Eric Halfvarson. That performance kicks off at 4:30 p.m. local time. The performance is slated to run until around 9 p.m. That’s around 11:30 p.m. EDT and 8:30 a.m. PST for the start time.

Both performances will be conducted by Adam Fischer.

While tickets start at 14 euros (approximately $16 USD) for most live streams, this one is special as it will be completely free of charge. All viewers must do is register with the website to enjoy this performance.

Next up on the slate of live streams will be “Turandot,” “Andrea Chénier,” “Simon Boccanegra,” “Capriccio,” “La Traviata,” “Rigoletto,” “Der Freischütz,” “Lohengrin,” and “Falstaff.”
