Teatro Grande di Brescia Announces 2023 Season

The Teatro Grande di Brescia has announced its 2023 season.

The season will open with Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” featuring a new production. Eleonora Buratto will sing the title role with Maestro Riccardo Frizza conduting. The production will be directed by Rodula Gaitanou.

Performance Dates: July 20 & 22, 2023

Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” will be performed by the winners of the As.Li.Co 2023 competition. The production is a co-production with Opera Carolina (US).

Performance Dates: Oct. 13 & 15, 2023

Verdi’s “Luisa Miller” returns to Brescia for the first time since 2001. The production will be determined at a later date.

Performance Dates: Nov. 3 & 5, 2023

Absent from the Brescia stage for 20 years, Verdi’s “Don Carlo” will return in an international co-production that will be announced at a later date.

Performance Dates: Dec. 1 & 3, 2023
