Young Women’s Choral Projects of San Francisco Unveils 2022-23 Season

The Young Women’s Choral Projects of San Francisco has unveiled its 2022-23 season.

The season opens with “Souls of Resilience” at Mission Dolores. The performance will feature Native American poetry, gospel, and “Three Mexican Folksongs” by David Conte.

Performance Date: Oct. 30, 2022

Next up is a holiday performance entitled “Deck the Hall.” The San Francisco Symphony will join the ensemble.

Performance Date: Dec. 4, 2022

 That will be followed up by “Carols by Candlelight,” a concert featuring music by Tadeja Vulc and Shawn Kirchner’s American Folk Song Oratorio “The Light of Hope Returning.” There will also be more traditional carols.

Performance Date: Dec. 9, 2022

“Rekindle Hope” will also feature more holiday music as well as excerpts from Kirchner’s “The Light of Hope Returning.”

Performance Date: Dec. 10, 2022

The organization’s annual gala, “A Taste of Argentina,” will kick off 2023. The concert and sit-down dinner will feature food and music from Argentina.

Performance Date: March 11, 2023

“Unicorns” will include the world premiere of a new work by Stacy Garrop and “The Song” by Ukrainian composer Iryna Aleksiychuk.

Performance Date: May 21, 2023

Next up is “All of Our Journeys,” which will include individual and collective journeys from North to South and past/present/future.

Performance Date: June 10, 2023

The season draws to a close with “Buen Viaje.” The program will feature music from across the Americas.

Performance Date: June 20, 2023 

The organization will then head off on a tour of Argentina.
