Young People’s Chorus of New York City & Lester Lynch to Headline ‘A Very Merry New York’ Concert

By Nicolas Quiroga

Six hundred members of the Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC), will present their Christmas show “A Very Merry New York” on Dec. 11, 2021.

The holiday performance, the first in two years by the organization, will take place at the United Palace.

In addition to the live performance by the choir, audiences will see “A Horrible Hush,” a film written by Tony Award-winning lyric Lynn Ahrens and directed by Young People’s Chorus of New York City’s Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Núñez. The film stars the choristers and baritone Lester Lynch.

“We are thrilled to present a holiday gift to New York City that will bring people together as we experience the joy of the holidays and the incredibly special moment of coming together on stage for the first time in nearly two years,” said Núñez in a press statement. “The children have been working for the last two months to create a program that is sure to delight our audience. We are especially grateful to Lynn Ahrens and Lester Lynch for lending their time and talent to this event. I hope we see everyone there — it is a night you will not want to miss!”
