
Yaritza Véliz & Javier Camarena Lead Dallas Opera’s ‘La Traviata’

The Dallas Opera is set to open its 2024-25 season with Verdi’s “La Traviata.”
The opera will be performed five times from Oct. 18 through Oct. 27 with the Oct. 26 performance live streamed.
The opera will star Chilean soprano Yaritza Véliz as Violetta, and Mexican tenor Javier Camarena as Alfredo. Mexican baritone Alfredo Daza will sing the role of Giorgio Germont.
Louisa Muller will direct the production with Iván López Reynoso conducting.
The Oct. 27 performance will be led by soprano Sara Gartland as Violetta and tenor Bekhzod Davranov as Alfredo.
The Dallas Opera has a long history with “La Traviata” featuring legendary Maria Callas in the company’s first full season 1958-59, followed by Monserrat Caballé, Beverly Sills, and Sondra Radvanovsky.
