Xabier Anduaga, Benjamin Appl, Madison Leonard & Yaritza Véliz Lead The Dallas Opera’s 2024-25 Season

Mainstage Opera
The season opens with Verdi’s “La Traviata” featuring Chilean soprano Yaritza Véliz, Spanish tenor Xabier Anduaga, and baritone Alfredo Daza. Louisa Muller directs and Iván López Reynoso conducts.
Performance Dates: Oct. 18-27, 2024
Claude Debussy’s “Pelléas and Mélisande” will be conducted by Ludovic Morlot and will star Benjamin Appl, Lauren Snouffer, Nicolas Courjal, Sir Willard White, and Katharine Goeldner.
Performance Dates: Nov. 8-16, 2024
Gluck’s “Orpheus and Eurydice” premieres at The Dallas Opera with Music Director Emmanuel Villaume conducting the original score from 1762 in Italian. Hugh Cutting, Madison Leonard, and Amber Norelai star. Joachim Schamberger directs.
Performance Dates: Feb. 7-15, 2025
The season closes with Puccini’s “La Bohème” directed by Tomer Zvulun. Sylvia D’Eramo stars as Mimì alongside Bekhzod Davronov as Rodolfo, Takaoki Ōnishi as Marcello, Emily Pogorelc as Musetta, William Guanbo Su as Colline, Efraín Solís as Schaunard, and Julien Robbins as Benoît/Alcindoro. Emmanuel Villaume conducts.

“The Three Litle Pigs” will be presented.

Recitals
The Dallas Opera’s Robert E. and Jean Ann Titus Family Recital will feature baritone Christian Gerhaher, with his long-time collaborator, pianist Gerold Huber. The program features lieder by Robert Schumann in an intimate program at Moody Performance Hall.

Emerging Artists
The Hart Institute for Women Conductors Showcase Concert, featuring participants in the 2025 class of rising talent from around the world leading The Dallas Opera Orchestra, is set for Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025.
The Dallas Opera’s biennial Lone Star Vocal Competition returns on Friday, March 7, 2025.
