Wolf Trap Opera Announces 2025 Summer Season

Wolf Trap Opera has announced its summer season including three fully-staged productions.

The season will also showcase American soprano Tamara Wilson as the 2025 Filene Artist-in-Residence. Wilson will work closely with Wolf Trap Opera’s emerging artists and will lead a public master class with WTO’s Studio Artists on June 11.

Opera 

The company will present Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro” with Emily Senturia conducting the production by E. Loren Meeker. The cast includes Christian Simmons, Arianna Rodriguez, Charles H. Eaton, Brittany Olivia Logan, Sophia Makewa Drott, Elissa Pfaender, Sam Dhobhany, Timothy Anderson, Adam Catangui, Catherine Creed, and Robert Frazier.

Performance Dates: June 20-28, 2025 at The Barns at Wolf Trap

Poulenc’s “Dialogues of the Carmelites” will star Gemma Nha, Keely Futterer, Erin Wagner, Gabrielle Beteag, Cecelia McKinley, Travon D. Walker, and Blake Denson.

Performance Dates: July 18-26 at The Barns at Wolf Trap

Elissa Pfaender, Daniel O’Hearn, Amanda Batista, and Laureano Quant lead Bizet’s “Carmen” at the Filene Center. José Luis Gómez conducts the procution by John de los Santos.

Performance Date: August 15, 2025

Concerts

Mendelssohn’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” will include the National Orchestral Institute + Festival under the direction of Andrew Grams. The evening will include Wolf Trap Opera Artists.

Performance Date: June 7, 2025

Soprano Midori Marsh and mezzo-soprano Gabrielle Beteag join the National Orchestral Institute + Festival and conductor Marin Alsop for Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 “Resurrection.”

Performance Dates: June 14 & 15, 2025

Orff’s “Carmina Burana” will be performed. The National Symphony Orchestra, two choruses, and stars of the Wolf Trap Opera will be conducted by Tianyi Lu.

Performance Date: July 25, 2025

There will be three salon series concerts as well as Opera scenes, and studio spotlight concerts. Renee Fleming, Tamara Wilson and  Steven Blier will give masterclasses.
