Winners of Pittsburgh Festival Opera’s Mildred Miller International Voice Competition Announed

The Pittsburgh Festival Opera has announced the winners for the Mildred Miller International Voice Competition, with sopranos taking all of the high honors.

In the ninth edition of the competition, soprano Teresa Castillo took home the First Prize as well as the Eugene N. and Barbara L. Myers Audience Favorite Accolade. Second Prize went to soprano Elisabeth Rosenberg and The Robert Chafin Third Prize winner was soprano Amber Monroe. The winners will get a chance to present their talents in recital on April 18, 2020.

In sum, there were nine finalists for the Oct. 27 performance including soprano Helena Brown, mezzo-soprano Abigail Dock, soprano Caitlin Gotimer, mezzo-soprano Polixeni Tziouvaras, mezzo-soprano Abigail Levis,  and soprano Hayley Lipke.

The Pittsburgh Festival Opera is heading into its 43rd season.
