Wiener Staatsoper Announces New COVID-19 Rules for Children

By Francisco Salazar

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced new rules for children under the age of 15.

The company noted that due to a change in the ordinance, young people aged 12 to 15 can now attend performances at the Wiener Staatsoper without a booster. However, children will be required to show a negative PCR test or a valid Ninja-Pass. Anyone over the age of 15 will be required to have a booster certificate.

The news comes as the opera company recently reopened its theater after closing down due to an outbreak among many performers.

The company is currently presenting productions of “Werther,” “Macbeth,” “La Cenerentola,” and “Pique Dame.” This week “Peter Grimes” will be revived starring Jonas Kaufmann, Lise Davidsen, and Sir Bryn Terfel.
