Wiener Staatsoper Announces Cast Changes for Several Productions

The Wiener Staatsoper has announced cast changes for several productions.

The company said that Leonardo Neiva will sing the role of Marcello in “La Bohème” replacing Clemens Unterreiner on Nov. 25 and 28 and Dec. 2, 5, and 8.

Meanwhile, Clemens Unterreiner will replace Martin Häßler in “Die Zauberflöte” on Nov. 15, 18, 22, 24, and 26.

Neiva will join a cast that includes Freddie De Tommaso, Roberta Mantegna, Michael Arivony, Günther Groissböck, and Maria Nazarova. Meanwhile, Unterreiner will join a cast that includes Günther Groissböck, Dmitry Korchak, Sara Blanch, Mané Galoyan, Ileana Tonca, Peter Kellner, and Thomas Ebenstein.

Other changes include Carlos Osuna replacing Hiroshi Amako in the role of Edmondo in all “Manon Lescaut” performances and Ted Black taking over for Carlos Osuna in the role of Roderigo in all “Otello” performances.
