
Wiener Staatsoper Announces Cast Change for ‘Il Trovatore’
By Francisco SalazarThe Wiener Staatsoper has announced a cast change for its Feb. 11 performance of “Il Trovatore.”
The company said that Marina Rebeka will sing the role of Leonora replacing the originally scheduled Maria Agresta.
Rebeka has performed the role of Leonora at the Royal Opera House and the Zurich Opera House. She is well known for her Verdi, Puccini, Bellini, and Donizetti roles and has performed all over the world. She performs at the Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, Royal Opera House, and Paris Opera.
She joins a cast that includes Artur Rucinski, Clémentine Margaine, and Vittorio Grigolo. Pier Giorgio Morandi conducts the production by Daniele Abbado.
