Wexford Festival Opera Unveils Casts For Numerous 2019 Productions

The Wexford Festival Opera has unveiled casting for most of its operas.

The company revealed that the role of Admento in “Dorilla in Tempe” by Vivaldi will feature tenor Juan Sancho.

The ShortWork operas also got full cast lists.

In “Le Docteur Miracle,” audiences will see Lizzie Holmes as Laurette, Kasia Balejko as Veronique, Guy Elliott as Dr. Miracle, and Simon Mechlinski as Le Podestat. Andrew Synnott will conduct. Performances are slated for Oct. 23-31, 2019.

In Pauline Viardot’s “Cendrillon,” Isolde Roxby will take on the title role while Ben Watkins will be Le Baron de Pictordu, and Cecilia Gaetani will be Armelinde. Rachel Goode will interpret Maguelonne while Kelli-Ann Masterson will be La Fée. Finally, Richard Shaffrey will be Le Prince Charmant. Jessica Hall conducts. Audiences can view the work on Oct. 24, 29, and Nov. 1.

Finally, in Rossini’s “L’Inganno Felice,” audiences will hear Rebecca Hardwick as Isabella, Huw Ynyr as Duca Betrando, Thomas Hopkinson as Batone, Peter Brooks as Tarabotto, and Henry Kerswell as Ormondo. Giorgio D’Alonzo conducts. The Rossini opera takes the stage on Oct. 25, 30, and Nov. 2, 2019.
