The Welsh National Opera’s Community Chorus and Renewal Choir have come together to produce a performance of a holy favorite.

The ensembles recorded “O Holy Night” under the music direction of Kim Samuels, Vernon Samuels, and Kate Woolveridge; the Samuels led the Renewal Choir while Wollveridge directed the WNO Community Chorus. Jennifer Hill, a producer at Welsh National Opera, led the project.

In addition to releasing the performance video, the organizations also presented a behind-the-scenes featurette emphasizing how the project came together and showcase how the rehearsal process took place online.

“The purpose of the project was to bring together two quite different choirs for a totally online experience where they would share each other’s music, learn from each other, and then jointly, learn together a new piece of music which would then be recorded and released in the run-up to Christmas,” Hill states in the video.
